What is it?
Creature Creations is a wholly original team building concept. Participants will get the opportunity to work in teams to either create their own mini-beast or contribute part of a 'bigger creature' in a collaborative effort. You will learn how to manipulate wire to form the armature for your sculptures, and then use mod-roc plaster bandage and paint to bring your creatures to life.

Session Outline
You will meet our Arts in Learning specialist Richard Frost, who will demonstrate his work to inspire your own. Richard will teach the basic skills required for cutting, bending and joining wire to make the basic framework.
Next your party will divide into teams and partake in the chosen session theme (see below). Instruction will be on hand throughout as your group is taken completely out of its comfort zone and challenged to be enthusiastic, creative and original.
After a break for lunch the group will review what they have constructed. If the separate pieces are to be brought together as a whole, now is the chance to see how they will fit. If they are to exist as individual pieces, the group will compare and contrast. By this point, the scuptures will be ready for covering with mod-roc. After a short break they will be ready to paint.
Session Outcomes
Creature Creations encourages the group(s) to take creative risks, identifying and solving problems with available resources. There will be a group identity and sense of ownership with the finished piece, which will be valued as a product of each team's creative efforts.
The finished scupture(s) will become the property of the group or organisation. For maximum effect, they can be varnished, mounted and delivered to your offices for an additional cost.

SESSION THEMES
1) Mini Beasts - every group will make a different creature sculpture to set criteria, inspired by the theme 'bugs and beasties'
2) The Bigger Creature - each group will make the different components for a creature - one group the legs, one the head etc. Groups need to communicate to ensure consistancy of design.
3) The Shape of Things to Come - each group will make a number of completely abstact forms, following no particualr design brief. When they are finished, each group will bring their shapes together to see how they can be combined to make a single creature.
