Drumming & More! Team Building Events Using Percussion & the Maori Haka War Dance
Drumming and The Haka are both powerful team building activities because when it works, the effect is immediate, everyone can feel it and hear it! Both are highly infectious events: people just can’t but help getting involved. You’ll find even the most reserved characters are soon beaming from ear to ear and stomping their feet.
These highly interactive hands-on events will bring your group closer together and will certainly raise the energy levels in the room! Our ‘Drumming & More’ event encourages team work, by working in unison and actively encouraging participants to achieve their goals together. Our percussion experts and authentic Maori tribesmen have years of experience working with corporate groups and achieving results.
Drumming can be used as a stand alone event, perhaps to end a meeting, conference or dinner or can be incorporated into a full day where we can devise a tailored team event. We can also suggest many ways to make The Haka fit in with your company’s itinerary and each event we organise for clients is dealt with on a bespoke basis.

Option 1 – Drum up the Fun
This highly interactive hands-on event, will bring your group closer together and will certainly raise the energy levels in the room! Timings for a group session can be from 30 minutes to several hours. If a sense of unity and shared achievement are important to your next event, then try Drumming. It is amazing.
Working with professional percussionists, each team will quickly learn the basics of the Samba rhythms and ‘breaks’, playing a kaleidoscope of instruments including surdos, snare drums, kettle drums, floor drums, cymbals, tambourines, tambourines, triangles, guiros, agogos, cuicas, cow bells and shakers. Your teams will then work towards producing a grand finale, in which every member of the team has an important part to play in creating an amazing musical experience.
Option 2 – The Haka
Your delegates take their seats & all seems well.
The doors shut behind the last guests, & the world music that has been playing as they enter, is increased in volume; signifying the start of the conference/haka activity.
And then suddenly, silence!
Then the roar of ‘the call’, the loud and exciting tribal call of the lead tribesman, giving the team their cue to storm the stage.
Our authentic Maori tribesmen then perform the legendary HAKA to the delight (and surprise) of your guests. Within moments of our team finishing, we have everyone on their feet, and take them on a whirlwind energiser where they will learn and perform the Haka as one unified team.

The Haka was a great success. Bruce and Laurence were fantastic – a great balance of fun and sincerity. I am sending out feedback forms for the whole event and I have no doubt the Haka experience will score very highly as everyone was buzzing.
