Option 1 – The Heart of the Great Alone Exhibition

Re-live the historic period of polar exploration with the Antarctic photography exhibition at the Queen’s Gallery. Witness the journey of Scott and Shackleton’s expedition to the South Pole with an incredible array of pictures in the Queen’s Gallery. In addition to the exhibition, a selection of other Polar material from the Royal Collection can be viewed here including photographs and paintings associated with HRH The Duke of Edinburgh’s visit to Antarctica in 1956-7.

After your talk and viewing of the exhibition, you and your guests will enjoy a glass of wine served in The Queen’s Gallery shop. After your private viewing of the exhibition, guests be taken to private dining club Mosimann’s, where a private dining room awaits them.

Option 2 – The Heart of the Great Alone Exhibition with talk from Henry Worsley

Before viewing the exhibition, guests will enjoy a 45 minute talk in the Redgrave Room from Lt Col Henry Worsley. Henry is related to Frank Worsley, the skipper on Shackleton’s ship The Endurance and a career solider and polar traveller, who regualarly lectures on the subject of polar exploration.

In October 2011, to celebrate the centenary of Captain Scott’s race against Roald Amundsen in 1911/12, Henry will recreate the same journeys over the original routes with the British Army – an event never repeated since the original, returning to the UK in February. Prince William is the patron for this exciting expedition.

Available exclusively on Thursday February 23rd 2012, or Thursday March 29th 2012, Henry offers first hand experience of someone who has recently journeyed over the historic polar routes and faced the hardships of Polar expeditions and will talk to guests about the adversity and danger he faced and how he endured life on the harshest continent in the world. Thursday March 29th coincides with Captain Scott’s memorial at St Paul’s Cathedral and is a fitting date for this memorable event.

As an optional extra after your private evening at The Queen’s Gallery, guests will be taken by executive transfers to Mosimann’s. This event will appeal to those customers who wish to entertain in central London who look to provide a unique, VIP experience and is an excellent prelude to dining at one of the most exclusive venues in London.
