Another great golf event was held at Turnberry this year with 32 golfers playing a Team and Individual Stableford competition.
An international logistics firm joined a team of stock brokers and an integrated communications agency for 2 days of superb golf at one of the most stunning courses in UK.
Guests arrived on Wednesday under their own steam for 18 holes on the Kintyre course to get them in the swing for the competition the next day. A beautiful sunny day with scenery to take your breath away certainly put them in good spirits for the private dinner in the Arran Room within Turnberry Hotel. I must say thank you to Alan and his Banqueting team for a super evening with nothing being too much trouble. Superb food and great wine were on the menu and most guests had a fairly early night in one of Turnberry’s lovely Lodge bedrooms.

The day dawned but not brightly, as a chilly wind and overcast skies set the scene with the promise of rain and winds later on.
As I met all of the guests at the halfway house on the Ailsa Course, the weather was turning and breezy was definitely an understatement! As the day progressed for the team’s final nine holes facing into the wind the heavens opened with horizontal rain and driving winds! Having spoken to all of the guests they didn’t let their spirits be dampened and had a superb time on the Ailsa Course although no personal bests had been reached.
A hot shower and buffet lunch followed with prize giving.
Well done to all the winners Paul Mason’s team overall champions with Lee Butterworth winning Nearest the Pin and Roy Frost winning Longest Drive.
Tina and I had a super time with some familiar faces and enjoyed meeting a lot of new guests whom I hope will return for next year’s event.
A personal thank you to Louise at Turnberry for her invaluable help before and during the event.
