Bob The Cat

Last week I had the pleasure of seeing a long standing client and looking after their 2 day event in Leamington Spa. The venue, which we took over exclusively, was the absolutely stunning Mallory Court Hotel which oozes charm and has an extremely professional team working for them.

Arriving early on the Wednesday morning, we set-up in the Knights Suite which is a self contained conference centre and has very smart bedrooms above it. The main atrium was to house the buffet lunch and our registration table with huge corporate banner it looked like something out of the Krypton Factor but was actually easy to assemble once in the know!

Guests arrived all on time and had an hour of networking over lunch before the conference and break-out sessions began. At the end of the afternoon guests had time to enjoy their wonderful bedrooms each one in the main house unique in decoration – and the lovely gardens before donning their black tie for the reception drinks and gala dinner. The food was absolutely mouth watering and Dominic the Restaurant Manager along with his team ran everything extremely smoothly. The highlight of the evening was our after dinner speaker Bob ‘The Cat’ Bevan MBE who is a legend on the sporting dinner circuit. After a hilarious hour, the guests then took to the main lounge for further drinks which lasted well into the early hours so I am told!!

Considering the bar bill that night, I was surprised to see so many guests up and having breakfast the following morning and once the coach arrived, we were on our way for the 15 minute journey to our activity centre for a morning of Terex 360 Diggers, Clay Pigeon Shooting and 4×4 Driving. Our centre is perfectly positioned only a few minutes from the M40 and is situated on acres of land which allows a wide selection of activities to take place.

Apart from a biting wind, the weather stayed fair and our guests all really enjoyed the activities, there was a lot of laughter coming from the Terex Diggers which are actually a lot harder to negotiate than first meets the eye!! So as to avoid people standing in between their turn, we had placed segways further down the field which are great fun and a couple of guests expressed an interest in purchasing when they got home.

A hot buffet lunch at the centre finished off their day and then it was back onto the coach to Mallory Court to collect vehicles and the onward journey home. Mallory Court is a super venue if you have guests coming from around the UK due to its central position and is very close to the M40.

As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and had a lovely group to look after. Thanks of course go to Mallory Court Hotels team for a very professional event and to Amadeus Coaches who were very flexible for us.

I am just about to leave for Cheltenham National Hunt Festival which I know will be fantastic so stay tuned and I will give you all the details next week!
