Cheltenham Hospitality – Your Race Day Guide

Cheltenham is perhaps the most exciting race in the UK calendar, with a friendly British and Irish rivalry creating an astonishing atmosphere of nerves, excitement and revelry. An average of 50,000 spectators attend each day of the four day meeting and lay down bets totalling approximately £600,000,000 as well as enjoying 200,000 pints of the Black Stuff! As well as attracting the best horses, Cheltenham Festival hospitality is regarded as amongst the best at any course in the UK. Wherever you are at Cheltenham this year you’ll be viewing the pinnacle of the jump racing season as well as enjoying what is in our opinion the best race day atmosphere at any of the UK race meetings.

*The St Patrick’s Derby is a fantastic charity flat race and will be run at the end of St Patrick’s Thursday at Cheltenham. Applicants from all over the UK and Ireland with a wide range of equestrian skills are selected to run in aid of Cancer Research UK. Many of the riders you may recognise, such as ‘At The Races’ presenter Gina Price or the Welsh actress and opera singer Shân Cothi. Cheltenham reports that over the past two years £400,000 has been raised by the Festival and the charity race, making this race a firm favourite in our opinion!

On a final note: for the horse racing enthusiasts amongst you make sure you keep an eye on Long Run who’ll be racing this Friday in the rearranged Betfair Denman Chase at Newbury. There was much anticipation for last Saturday’s card at Newbury as it was the last time for trainers to fine tune their Cheltenham Festival preparation. The new card for Friday (17th) is set to be released at some point today so it’ll be well worth checking how Long Run performs with just a few weeks to go till the Gold Cup race Friday at Cheltenham.
