Taste of London will once again return to Regent’s Park Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th June 2012, bringing together over 40 world class chefs and their London restaurants as well as countless charming small suppliers who’ll be showcasing their unique creations and ingredients.
Taste of London hospitality is a food lovers heaven, with exclusive tasting menu’s created by legendary chefs coupled with fine wines and Champagne, all served in the Secret Garden. Below are our picks from the initial line-up of chefs in appearance at Taste of London. You may find the chefs greeting guests to their restaurant’s stand or within the Secret Garden or maybe taking to the stage of the AEG Taste Theatre and sharing their secrets.
Team Tactics favourite Michel Roux Jr will once again be at Taste of London. Michel Jr not only creates beautiful menus for some of Britain’s most popular hospitality events, but he oversees Le Gavroche with his brother Alain as well as Roux at the Landau. Charmingly, Le Gavroche is the restaurant at which Michel Jr grew up as his father Albert and uncle Michel headed it’s rise to become the first 3 michelin-starred restaurant in Britain.
Taste of London favourite Gary Rhodes will be appearing again. It’d be hard to hold a British restaurant festival without Gary who has been credited as playing a major part in Britain’s emergence as a dominant force in the culinary world. His Michelin starred restaurant Rhodes 24 will be serving their wonderful British cuisine.
Talking of the British-factor, at least one Gordon Ramsey restaurant is needed for a British restaurant festival and this appears in the form of Andy Cook, head chef of the Savoy Grill. Andy worked for Gordon at Claridge’s early in his career before working in Rome and Milan and then once again for Gordon in Tokyo, New York and LA before returning to London. Another Gordon Ramsey protege in appearance will be Jason Atherton, who’ll be appearing with his first restaurant Pollen Street Social. Jason is credited with helping Gordon Ramsey turn his Maze brand global.
Another well travelled chef in appearance will be the highly experienced Bruno Loubet, owner of Bistro Bruno Loubet. Bruno made a much heralded return to London in 2009 and visitors to Bruno’s stand can expect a friendly, convivial atmosphere.
For those looking for international cuisine there are plenty of choices with nearly all tastes catered for. Head chef of Iberica Marylebone, Cesar Garcia, will be showcasing Iberica’s fantastic Spanish dishes using exclusively sourced ingredients imported directly from Iberica. Both Atul Kochar and Vivek Singh, two innovators and drivers of modern Indian cuisine, will be appearing at Taste of London. Atul Kochar’s michelin-starred restaurant Benares and Vivek Singh’s The Cinnamon Club will both be at Taste of London.
