The clocks have gone forward, the days are getting longer and the number of different enquiries coming into Team Tactics is increasing. The first Christmas Party bookings have been confirmed with the aim of beating last year. Requests this week included …”we want to start with real ale” then a treasure hunt and then more real ale. No problem with that, we said, last year they were Carol Singing in Covent Garden.
It is amazing how people leave booking events to the last minute, it doesn’t matter what time of year or what type of event we have calls from clients saying can we do this or that. A last minute box for Cheltenham Festival the week before, an open Top bus for the Epsom Derby, the last two Thursdays in December it is all the same, popular events get booked up very early. All of the clients we took to this years Cheltenham festival have already booked again for 2016 even before we have announced our event package prices.
Why? They know that if they get in first they will get the box, facility or table that they want for their clients rather than leaving it to the last minute and being disappointed with what is left. We have had the same reaction to Rugby this Year, people are already booking for the 2016 six nations because of the success of this years series, that is even before the World Cup in the autumn.
The great satisfaction of running events and hospitality is knowing that we have done the best for our clients. We have been looking at our bookings for March and predominantly the bookings are from existing clients who trust Team Tactics and know that what we say we will do, we will. Never over promise and under deliver, that is one of the first things my ex- chief executive drilled into all of us when I started work. We see a lot of clients coming back to us and saying thank you very much the whole team loved the event, what can we do next time.
I had an e-mail along those lines this week from one of the biggest insurance companies in the world. We did a team building event (Build a Bike for Charity) in January this year and this week they have asked us to arrange another three events for the team for the rest of 2015. Each to be different and each to contain team building. The great thing about this team is that they are a team and once we had put a number of options through for the first event in April, the options were sent out to all to vote on which one they wanted to do first. So it is, that at the end of April we have 25 people coming to London for a wine tasting and lunch in The Napoleon Cellars of Berry Bros & Rudd. Not your everyday team building but a good way to have some fun and say thank you to the team. We already know the next ideas in the summer and can’t wait to see how they go.
Last Saturday we held our first summer party of 2015 with 60 people from Kent coming to London and getting on our Party Bus for a tour through London a picnic lunch at stationers Hall and karaoke and fun had by all. We have high hopes for this new event for this summer and Christmas. The great thing about it, is you choose where you want to go. We can pick you up from your office or station that you arrive at and then you decide. This summer we have great ideas, a tour around the west end on the bus, take in the sights whilst sipping a glass of bubbly or a cocktail of your choice, then stop off at one of the royal parks to have a picnic and some summer games. Rounders in Green Park, football next to the serpentine. The choice is yours and if it rains you stay on the bus!
As you can see the theme of this blog is get in early to avoid disappointment. We do a lot of work with Davy’s wine bars and trying to get private rooms for Christmas parties in December is getting more and more difficult and it is only the start of April. If you are thinking of holding an event for your staff we suggest you start planning now, the old age lets wait till the last minute to get a bargain does not hold water anymore, in fact it is the opposite, if you wait you will pay more for not exactly what you want.
Here at Team, Tactics we pride ourselves on not taking things ‘off the shelf” so whatever it is you are thinking of doing for the rest of 2015 please give any of us a call or contact us and let us show you how we can support you, your staff and clients.
