With less than 100 days until December, some venues are already completely booked out for staff Christmas parties. Luckily our capital has plenty of options and here are 10 of our favourites…
1. The Old Bank of England, Fleet Street
As you might imagine, this was the home of the Bank of England. The institution resided here from 1888 to 1975. Spread over two levels, the interior must be seen to be believed, even the backbar is impressive. It is perhaps one of the most opulent interiors for a pub in London and private spaces are available for hire.
2. Imperial War Museum, Lambeth
This venue is the absolute bomb – it’s not often that you can claim to share your party with replica nuke! Here you can dine the night away with aircraft hanging overhead and be surround by tanks. You would struggle to find any building with as much Military History in it, the fact that you can have your Christmas party in here means you can have the party to end all parties.
3. The Honourable Artillery Company, Old Street
This magnificent Georgian House is a real anomaly for this part of London – it is set in 5 acres of beautiful gardens. Admittedly these may not be of much use in the depths of winter, however, this venue’s excellent transport links are of use. It is located almost have way between Old Street and Moorgate stations.
4. Champagne Charlie’s, Charing Cross
Located deep underneath Charing Cross station, this cosy venue could be perfect for your Christmas party. Accessed through the arch off Villiers Street, it enjoys excellent transport links. The welcoming staff in this well-presented venue will make sure that your party goes smoothly.
5. Tower Bridge, River Thames
You may have walked across the glass-bottomed walk-ways, but have you ever considered having your Christmas Party there? The views from the walkways offer a stunning backdrop to any party. If you’re not so fond of heights, then why not try the old Victorian Engine rooms and enjoy the marvellous retired steam engines.
6. Crusting Pipe, Covent Garden
Located in the heart of Covent Garden, the Crusting Pipe is a fantastic party venue. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and the vaults offer cosy refuge from the cold winter air. Its central location is equally convenient for those wishing to go home early and for those wishing to stay out late.
7. Glaziers Hall, London Bridge
The Glazier’s Hall offers an interesting mix of tradition and modernity and there are a variety of spaces available for use. It is practically across the road from London Bridge Station and adjoins London Bridge itself so it very easy to get to. This area of town has always been known for its merriment, why not turn up early and enjoy the delights of Borough Market?
8. Science Museum, Kensington
This unique venue can provide a truly memorable backdrop to your party. There are many spaces available, if you want a clear space to focus on your company, you can have a completely blank canvas. However, we would recommend a space where you and your guests will be surrounded by exhibits.
9. Stationers Hall, St. Paul’s
This is a real hidden gem. The venue boasts of three impressive spaces which all interlink, there is also a secluded garden. This guildhall dates from c.1670 (having been remodelled in 1800) and is one of the few survivors of the German air campaign, as such it was awarded Grade 1 listed status in 1950. The central location of this venue as makes it perfect for a Christmas Party.
10. Altitude 360, Millbank
This was the tallest building in Britain from it’s opening in 1963 until 1967 and, as you might imagine, the views over the London skyline are amazing. The tower was originally known as the Vickers Tower as it was build for the manufacturers of the eponymous machine guns. Since those days it has hosted various political parties and now it hosts a venue with an absolutely superb view.
