The Great Christmas Gingerbread Challenge

It is biscuit week this week in our central London kitchens! As fans of the classic GBBO will know, this challenge is for the bakers to show off their skills and talent. This is the ultimate Christmas edition with our Gingerbread House challenge! The aim is to have a bake that is both of a professional appearance but is also outstanding in taste.

In this exciting 3 hour Christmas event we will uncover the star bakers of the group and those that will want to avoid a ‘Soggy Bottom’. Teams will be tasked with baking and designing a festive scene and Gingerbread House with a design of their choice. Our professional chefs will be on hand to guide teams through the biscuit baking process before letting your creative juices flow. It is now up to the teams to start the building process

socially distanced team building activitiesKEEPING EACH OTHER SAFE

We understand it has been difficult to plan ahead in recent times. This is why we are providing you with a COVID guarantee on all of our team building activities. This means that if you or any of the group are unable to attend due to local or national restrictions we will help you rearrange the activity to a suitable date free of charge. However, we can now look ahead to a time where teams can come back together at a safe distance by following strict Covid regulations. At Team Tactics we love bringing teams together albeit virtually over the last few months. If you are planning the team reunion or are looking to bring your team back to your offices, we are here to provide safe socially distanced team building activities.

Giant Gingerbread Making!

Teams will be greeted with a selection of mouthwatering canapes on arrival along with a Prosecco reception to begin their corporate baking experience in style.

The challenge is to design and build a showstopper Gingerbread house. The process will draw upon your creativity including  assembling intricate details that will give your ‘biscuity’ creation its identity.

Biscuit baking is thirsty work! Guests will enjoy refreshments throughout including a glass of wine per person, juices, teas & coffees. Teams will be put to the test to carefully create their masterpiece throughout the building and decorating process. Will you be able to ensure a high quality professional finish that Mary Berry would be proud of.

Only one team can be named the star baking team! We will also provide teams with cake boxes to take-away your showstoppers, or if your edible houses look too good to resist why not tuck straight in, after a photo of course!

The ‘chefs’ could not have been more helpful if they tried although I’m sure the bubbly is adding Rosé-tinted spectacles! Initially I thought corporate kitchens would be rather dull affairs, but Team Tactics talked me into it, and I’m so glad they did! Not only did we donate our little houses to charity, but we also got to eat the *ahem* breakages.

Thank you for organising this great even for us. We truly enjoyed it and the teams got so competitive!
Many people were planning to bake the gingerbread houses over Christmas, so they will find the recipe useful.

Having done corporate cooking recently before, I thought this would be more of the same – I could not have been more wrong. While it may have been a similar setting, there was so much less to go wrong, and a lot more things to eat along the way.

I would recommend this to anyone who has enjoyed corporate cooking but wishes to try something a little different (and a little easier – but just as good).
