Event Summary

‘It’s a Rat Trap’ puts the “build” in team-building.

It is a hands-on, problem-solving activity, for groups between 20-70 people, working together to build a life-sized version of the classic Mouse Trap game.

Teams must communicate, collaborate under pressure, and show plenty of patience to ensure each component connects correctly and the full chain reaction works from start to finish.

Hosted by our experienced event managers, teams are supported throughout, with surprise challenges that test adaptability, leadership, and teamwork.

This team activity is a firm favourite for groups looking for an inclusive, engaging experience with a fun, satisfying finale.

“This event is high-energy collaboration at its best. Teams must communicate clearly and stay patient with each other. What I love most is seeing the shift from chaos to cohesion. When everything comes together at the end, the sense of shared achievement is huge.”

What To Expect

The activity begins with a mix of fun, collaborative energiser games, led by our events manager. We make sure our energisers feel natural rather than forced.

Teams then move into the main build phase, working together to complete physical, mental, and creative challenges to earn pieces of the trap. Along the way, they construct the life-sized ‘Rat Trap’ — before bringing it all together to capture the “rat.”

Will it work… or not?! That’s the challenge your team needs to take on!

Why Teams Love This

  • It’s a shared problem, tackled in a lighthearted way. When groups finally crack it and the end product works – it’s genuinely great to see and be part of.
  • Your team will experience moments where the trap doesn’t work – and that’s completely normal. Figuring it out together creates a real sense of achievement when the team overcomes the challenge.
  • The secret to its popularity with teams? You’ll have to experience it for yourself!
