Henley Regatta Wednesday 1st July – Sunday 5th July 2020
The Henley Royal Regatta is without a doubt, one of the most well-known and prestigious regattas in the World. This highlight of the sporting calendar lasts over a 5 day period and features over 200 races from international Olympic rowers. To truly enjoy and immerse yourself in this unforgettable event, Team Tactics offer the Henley Regatta Hospitality Package, providing the perfect way for you and your guests to enjoy the rowing festivities.
Henley-upon-Thames is 7 miles north-east of Reading and 35 miles west of London. If you’re coming westbound on the M4, exit at junction 8/9 and onto the M404, after the third exit leave the M404 and head onto the A3130. This road will take you into Henley.
With trains running regularly to Henley from Paddington, they’re a great travel choice. A revised timetable is created by First Great Western for the entire event to make it that much easier. Not only that, there’s also extra bus services too!
As with many prestigious events, the Henley Royal Regatta is no different with a closely adhered to dress, although the regatta does not have a specific dress code some areas do have strict guidelines. It would be a good idea to loosely follow these rules not only to look the part but you never know where you might get invited.
The Stewards Enclosure Men: Lounge suits or Blazers and Flannels with shirt and tie, basically keep it smart but not dressed for the office. Ladies: Skirts or dresses down to the knee; no trousers, divided skirts or culottes (a little outdated but was founded in the eighteen forties.) Hats are an optional extra although the wearing of large flamboyant headgear can be frowned upon due to it blocking the view of those watching the racing. Don’t forget a lot of the event will be on grass so keep those shoes sensible.
The Regatta Enclosure offers a less formal dress code with those who attend opting for traditional club blazers and rowing apparel.
The draw for the races usually takes place the Saturday before the event. Starting and ending times do tend to vary each year depending on the amount of races but the following table provides a general guide:
|Day||First Race||Last Race|
