Le Bistrot du Sommelier is THE meeting place for wine lovers in Paris. Owned and run by Philippe Faure-Brac, Best Sommelier in the World 1992, the Bistrot offers wine enthusiasts a vast selection of wines from around the world (over 2000 references), matched with the innovative cuisine of master chef Jean-André Lallican.

Team Tactics and Le Bistrot has created a wine tasting menu billed as “Harmony of Wine and Fare”, featuring a 4 course lunch with 2 glasses of wine served during each course. All wines are served blind, and it’s up to the guests to determine the wine region, appellation, year and grape variety of each wine. It’s all part of the warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes guests feel so welcome at the Bistrot.

For your visit to the Bistrot du Sommelier, you’ll be accompanied by an English-speaking, professional sommelier who will be your guide throughout your meal. Starting with a short Introduction to Wine Tasting to provide a common tasting language for your meal, she will lead you through the tastings, exploring with you the matching of the wines with the dishes, and providing informative titbits about the wine regions represented. You’ll be invited to participate, to “wake up” your senses as you taste – along the way, you’ll learn quite a bit about wine, but all in a spirit of conviviality and fun. For the person who can most accurately determine the wines’ origins, a bottle of Grand Cru Champagne awaits as a prize! And whilst you are there ...... Bistrot du Sommelier is conveniently located in the very centre of Paris’ Right Bank, in the 8th arrondisement.

After your meal, you’ll have quite a choice of nearby attractions to visit. The restaurant is just down the street from Paris’ two major department stores, Galleries Lafayette and Printemps, and close to the famous gourmet emporiums of the Place de la Madeleine, Fauchon and Hédiard. The beautiful Musée Jacquemart André is just up the street, and the Jeu de Paume museum is just a short walk away at the Place de la Concorde. The Champs Elysées is also just a short walk from the Bistrot.
