Team BuildingChristmas might seem like a long way off, but it isn’t. We’re already more than half way through the year to the big day. While you might not yet have given your Christmas Party much thought, others have, we have already been taking our first Christmas 2019 bookings. If you haven’t already started to look into your Christmas Party, here is why you should…

  1. 1. Venue Availability

Just as with restaurant bookings at the weekend, venue availability is often an issue. If you book nice and early you will be guaranteed the venue you want. However, if you try to book the week before your event in December, it will be a real struggle. The most popular venues in London are already fully booked throughout December. The remaining venues are already taking bookings and you should be aware that the last Thursdays in December are always the most popular.

  1. 2. Choice of Entertainment

Remember that really good team building activity you did? Remember the really entertaining singer/compare/Haka you saw? The chances are other people do too, and, for example, how many Maori Warriors do you think there are in the UK? There are only so many people in the industry and these people can’t be in two places at once. It is best to book them as early as you can to ensure that your Christmas Party is the best.

  1. 3. Accommodation

This is a particularly tricky one in the run up to Christmas. Most companies like to have their staff get-togethers in the festive month. Often this will involve bringing into London their team members from overseas or from their offices in the provinces. Everyone has the same idea and the affordable rooms go quickly. You don’t want to end up spending more on accommodation than the entertainment.

  1. 4. Increase Attendance

One would hope that your staff team has a vibrant life outside of work. Christmas is, of course, a busy time in the social Calendar as people reconnect with people they haven’t seen enough over the year, see relatives and shop. Quite a few companies will also have deadlines that need to be met for the Christmas break, meaning that staff will not only have to do the above but also overtime. If you throw a Christmas Party into the mix at the last minute the attendance may be lacking. The earlier you get the dates out to your colleagues, the more likely they will be able to attend.

  1. 5. Boost Staff Morale

The whole point of treating your staff is to make them happy. Christmas is a great time to take stock and reflect on the previous year and look forward to what you want to achieve in the next year. The chances are that if your staff aren’t happy, this will be the time that they update their CVs and start looking elsewhere. What better way to take this thought out of their mind than by reminding them why your company is the best one to work for?

So there you are, 5 reasons why you should book your Christmas Party early. It’s all about the availability of all the factors you need for a successful event. Remember: it’s not just about the show and the logistics, it’s also about the people that the event is for. The earlier you make the choice, the more likely it is you’ll get what you want.
