The team is hosting a free-of-charge event to help raise funds for the British Olympic Foundation
The athletes are making their final preparations, the medals are being polished, the fan parks are being assembled. The start of the Paris 2024 Olympics is almost upon us, with the opening ceremony kicking off on 26th July with a parade of athletes on the Seine.
Olympics fever is sweeping through the nation, and at Team Tactics, we wanted to mark the occasion. As we celebrate the achievement of our fantastic athletes and the inspiring milestones they achieve as part of Team GB, we want to foster an enhanced appreciation for the incredible teams within our businesses and the fantastic things we can achieve when we combine our strengths and work together. To give businesses the opportunity to leverage the excitement and rally their employees to take part in a fun activity and engage in a little healthy competition themselves – we’re hosting our very own London Business Olympics!
For the first time ever, we’re making our popular Olympic Challenge free for businesses to take part. But this time, businesses will compete head-to-head with other teams in the London business community to win top place on the podium.
The one-day event is set to take place on Wednesday 21st August at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with limited places issued on a first-come first-served basis. Teams of up to six can be entered into the competition, and businesses can enter multiple teams to increase their chances of getting gold.
Team Tactics will donate £500 to the British Olympic Foundation on behalf of the participating businesses and welcomes additional donations from teams taking part in lieu of a charge to participate. The charitable arm of the British Olympic Association charity creates opportunities for young people through sport, encouraging personal development, fair play and personal excellence, with its ‘Get Set’ Youth Engagement Programme leveraging the power of the games to inspire children and young people to help them fulfil their potential.
Teams competing in the London Business Olympics will immerse themselves in the knowledge and history of the games and relive the great moments of the London Olympics around the 2012 purpose-built venue. Equipped with an interactive iPad, teams are required to locate and activate ‘hot spots’ around the park to crack clues, attempt challenges, and tackle Olympics-themed trivia to earn as many points as possible. To mark the debut of breakdancing in the 2024 Olympics, teams will also be tasked with creating and filming their own breakdancing routine to rack up the points.
A live leaderboard will track scores throughout the day so contestants can keep tabs on the competition.
Team Tactics founder and MD, Tina Benson, commented: “Our very own Olympics Challenge will allow businesses to flex their creativity and teamwork while boosting team morale and camaraderie. As well as providing businesses with a fun and memorable day out of the office, we’ll be donating on their behalf to the British Olympic Foundation – the deserving cause that underpins the values of the Olympic games and makes sport more accessible for young people. We’d welcome additional donations from our participating businesses to boost our impact even further.”
Team Tactics’ Olympic Challenge has been enjoyed by many businesses in the London business community and beyond, including Bloomberg, Cancer Research, GLP Europe and Venner Shipley.
A Cancer Research employee said of the activity: “It was a great way to spend an afternoon. We had fantastic communication from Team Tactics – they were organised and very helpful. The activity was great.”
