Military Driving Day - Fun Team Building Activity
Overview
This activity is excellent for team building and to reward your staff. It developes communication, leadership and planning skills and is a great way to help your staff find new ways of working together more successfully.
No doubt, you've seen these vehicles flash past your television screen but have you ever considered driving these machines yourself?
Team Tactics now provide you with an opportunity to drive an assortment of military vehicles few people would have the chance to experience. Team Tactics have sites based throughout the country for this type of activity. which can be tailored to suit client's specific requirements.

The Day
This thrilling day involves the teams rotating around six miltary driving areas (see details right). These areas will test participants individual skill, teamwork and bravery! Once complete teams prepare for the fitting climax to the day... Finale – Car Crush! The finale of the day incorporates a 55 ton Chieftan Tank. The overall winner will crush a family saloon car watched and cheered by all those participating throughout the day. The objective is to put one track up the centre of the car and flatten it, leaving the door open in perfect condition. This makes a perfect photo opportunity!
The Venue
Spring Farm is a purpose built military venue near the very pretty village of Towcester which is located on junction 15a off the M1.
Format
Following an introduction to the day's event guests will be kitted out in their camouflage overalls and helmets and divided into two groups. Each activity lasts between 50-60 minutes each guest will be taught the skills required to achieve a good score in the competition session, all under the watchful eye of experienced instructors.

- Prizes - A Chieftain laser engraved tankard can be arranged with scripture. There is also an excellent selection of military goodies from fluffy Cossack hats to deactivated second world war machine guns.
Package Itinerary

- 10.00 am Arrival on site at Spring Farm.
- 10.15 am Guests kitted in camo suits and helmets. Tea, coffee bacon rolls served
- 10.25 pm Safety briefing and description of day’s activities Activities Commence!
- 10.30 am Area 1 - Abbott and 432 1
- 1.30 am Area 2 - Lance and Ferret (or Hagland)
- 12.30 pm Area 3 - 17th Century flintlock and mortar shooting
- 1.30 pm Lunch - Option 1 - Barbeque Option 2 - Lasagne, salad, baked potato and roll, dessert

AREA 1 - Armoured Personnel Carriers - 432's
These 15 ton battlefield armored multi-purpose vehicles are highly maneuverable and provide the feeling of real power. The dips, turns and slopes allow the potential of these vehicles to be exposed. There is space for up to six people to ride in the back allowing the whole team to experience the driving skill (or lack of it!) of the driver.
Abbott Tank - The ideal vehicle for the frustrated M25 user –17 ton tank with a 105mm Howitzer capable of shooting over 10 miles! Simply to drive one of these Abbots is to command respect as this piece of heavy metal has no equal-except for another tank! Lever skid steer automatic gearbox. Our course tests brain, brawn and bottle, all under safe and professional instruction.
AREA 2 - Ferret CVR (Combat Vehicle Recce)
Small nippy armoured cars. Powered by a six cylinders Rolls Royce Engine, and Daimler body, the Ferret Armoured Car can pull 60 mph. It first served in 1953 and is used worldwide.
Lance - Large, American built aluminum tracked amphibious tank, carrying a sectionalized 30’ nucleur surface to surface missile. Very responsive and smooth driving - with only a five vehicles belonging to private individuals in the world.
AREA 3 - Flintlock & Mortars
Learn to fire a 17th Century Flintlock smooth bone musket and 17th Century cast iron co-horn mortar. Great fun once the mortar explodes creating a 12’ flash and 15’ smoke ring.
AREA 4 - Weaponry
Sixty minutes of fascinating weapons demonstration and briefing showing the reality of weapons and combat. Have a close look at IRA constructed bombs, made with household items.
AREA 5- SAS Skills and Woodland Patrol
Learn the secrets of the SAS by a former SAS soldier. Then, armed with this new set of skills pit your wits against him in the jungle!
AREA 6 - Radio Controlled Tanks OR Soft Air Squirmish
Trying to out manoeuvre the opposition using large Russian built tanks. Minimum of three people to control each tank. After a full briefing on the weapons and safety aspects your team endeavours to recover an integral part of a tank sighting system lost in the woods. Beware of snipers! Each recruit has his own fully automatic machine gun and 400 rounds.
